You can still login and retrieve your podcast settings to be used with other services.
AUDIOPRESS Blog
We regret to inform you that we’ll be discontinuing the AUDIOPRESS service in 2012. It has been our pleasure to have built and offered this service to you. We hope you have enjoyed your experience with AUDIOPRESS, and we thank you for your support.
Once discontinued, both the free AUDIOPRESS and paid AUDIOPRESS Pro apps will no longer function. Your personal account and private information will be deleted and will not be saved, shared, or sold. In order to help you migrate to a new app or service, we have added the ability to export your podcast subscriptions. To export your podcast subscriptions, log in to the AUDIOPRESS website on your desktop computer, and look for the “Export playlists” links.
The final discontinuation date has not been determined yet. When it has, we will post an update to this blog.
Sincerely,
The AUDIOPRESS Team
We just released AUDIOPRESS PRO! You can find it in the App Store or download it here.
What are the perks of being one of our ‘PRO’ users?
- The app is ad-free, for uninterrupted listening.
- You can make your playlists available offline for playback when you don’t have an Internet connection.

AudioPress Introduces ‘PRO’ Version for Offline Playback
New Ad-Free AudioPress PRO Supplements Audio Streaming with Ability to Download Content for Offline Listening
San Francisco, Calif. – March 21, 2011 – Mobile streaming of podcasts and talk radio stations to your smartphone conveniently saves space, but what happens when you lose your connection while driving through spotty reception during your commute, or you want to listen to your favorite shows in-flight? Or, perhaps you just want to avoid the risk of data overage charges. AudioPress solves these problems by combining sync-free streaming with downloading for offline playback in the new ad-free AudioPress PRO (99¢), now available in the iTunes App Store.
AudioPress PRO downloads your playlists while you are connected via Wi-Fi (or you can set it to download over 3G), so you have content ready for listening whenever you want. This feature was designed with “Power Users” and iPod users in mind. With both streaming and offline playback, listening to your playlists between areas with and without network service is seamless. Additionally, AudioPress PRO is ad-free for an uninterrupted listening experience.
AudioPress and AudioPress PRO also now feature “Gesture Mode” for eyes-light playback management in the car or on-the-go. With a quick touch or swipe of the finger, you can control the player without needing to look at the screen.

Have you ever listened to a podcast or radio station and wish you could share it right then and there with your friends? Now you can with AudioPress v1.2!
Whether it’s an episode of one of your favorite shows or something you’ve discovered while browsing podcasts in the catalog, you can now hit the “Share” button and send it to someone by email or text or, once you link your AudioPress account with Facebook and Twitter, you can also share content with your friends and followers.

Also included in the latest update are some bug fixes and general improvements to the player—thanks to a lot of helpful feedback from our users, so keep it coming. We’re all ears at feedback@audiopress.net.
This is the first of many new features we have in store, and we promise not to keep you waiting too long for the next release. Stay tuned!
If you’ve downloaded the latest AudioPress update, you may have noticed something missing from the catalog: AudioArticles. Don’t fret! They’re not gone forever. We have major things in store and have taken them down for now as we continue to work on improving AudioArticles for our listeners. Our goal is to implement all the changes we have planned to bring you a bigger and better AudioArticle experience in the coming months.
The good news is we have other improvements and new, highly-requested features waiting in the wings, which we’ll be releasing on a much quicker schedule from here on out. As always, we appreciate any comments or suggestions you have regarding AudioArticles or any of the new features as they come down the line. Send your thoughts to feedback@audiopress.net.
It’s been a whole day since we released a major update for AUDIOPRESS, and we want to know what you think of all the new features because we know we’re excited about them! We listen to all of your feedback, and a lot of what you see in the latest version of the app is a direct result of comments and suggestions from you, so keep them coming!
In case you haven’t seen the update yet, what are you waiting for? Here is what you’re missing out on:
- High-speed playback (for iOS 3.2 and above). This was by far the most requested feature from our users. You can now listen to your playlist at ½x, 1x (normal speed), 1.5x, or 2x speeds. Of course, the only exception would be the radio stations—you can’t make a live broadcast go faster, as much as we wish we could help you do so.
- Article Alerts. AudioArticles can now be automatically delivered to your playlist each morning based on criteria you choose. We have made it even easier for you to stay up-to-date with all the news you’re interested in—which means we have also made it so you no longer have an excuse for falling behind on current events…
- Gesture controls. From the player, switch to the Gesture mode (see the hand icon on the upper right?) for one-handed, eyes-free control. You can simply tap anywhere on the screen to play/pause and swipe to go to the next/previous playlist item or scan forward/back 30 seconds. You can also change playback speed in this mode with a two-finger tap! The only thing easier would be Mind-Read mode, but we’re not making any promises on that.
- Mark as Heard. If you don’t want to listen to any item on your playlist, just give it a swipe to the left and it’ll be marked as heard. You can do this in the player or in the playlists. This feature was also a popular one in comments from our users.
We at AUDIOPRESS are already working on the next big update, and we have got a lot more fantastic features in store for you. But what comes next isn’t entirely up to us. We greatly value what our users have to say. We want to know what you love, what you hate, and what you want to see, so please don’t hesitate to write us!
We’ve been building up to this day for some time and are excited to announce the launch of AUDIOPRESS, the first iPhone app of its kind (no seriously, it is) to combine multiple formats of spoken audio into one completely personizable and customizable playlist.
You might be asking, “What do you mean by ‘spoken audio?’” Exactly that. Pretty much any form of news, information and entertainment that you would listen to – other than music (we’ll leave that to the Pandoras of the world). So that means everything from podcasts, to radio shows, and even news articles from the Associated Press read out loud to you. We also let you plug in personalized information that is of interest to you, such as your local weather forecast, traffic report for your commute to work, or sports scores for your favorite team.
Sure, you’ve probably heard of other podcast aggregators or tried out your fair share of streaming radio. But we’re excited to offer something here that bundles all of this info together in one playlist that you can easily manage and update either directly from your phone, or from the Web (just like iTunes).
And AUDIOPRESS IS completely sync-free! Because when you are in a rush to leave for work in the morning the last thing you want to do is plug your phone into your computer.
In the AUDIOPRESS world, this is all done automatically for you, keeping you up to date with the latest episode of your favorite podcast or news headlines of the day.
Check out this video to see how the app works:
Give it a try! Download AUDIOPRESS for free from the iTunes App Store and hear what the world has to say.
(And we’d love to have your feedback – we’re all ears (no pun intended) for input both good and bad so let us know what you think and what you’d like to see in future updates to the app. Drop us a line at feedback@audiopress.net)
